MM and I went to watch “The Assault” preview at the movies today! It has been so long since we last met.

The movie was actually pretty good for an arty movie. I am categorizing it as an arty movie because the scenes have a grey-ish feel to it and it isn’t those films that you can come in half-way and understand what is going on. Any film with an intricate meaning behind it is an art film. Haha. It's in French and Arab. But I can't differentiate the both. Anyway, I can understand neither, so I just read the subtitle. Haha.
Anyway, the movie was about terrorism. I know so apt. I am going to Oslo, probably not one of the safest places right now on Earth, and here I am watching a movie on terrorism. One thing I realized about them, they are here to make a statement and to them you are probably just a tool. They are God’s warriors, so normal negotiations don’t work on them. There is no point offering them money and harping on logic with them is like playing tennis with a scuba diver.
Throughout the movie, there was this intense and a little bit horrifying atmosphere with random interjection of comic relief from MM. I am still worried about going to Norway, seriously who isn’t? In fact, I think I am even more worried than my parents. I am fearful of death because I have so much accomplished dreams and goals. If you aren’t afraid when death stares you in the face, I applaud you for your courage (which I am seriously lacking) or perhaps your lack of sensibility.
How many people have truly lived life to their fullest? I sure hadn’t.
From the movie, I realize the terrorist pick random people to sacrifice. It’s like a lucky draw. The prize of winning the draw is to go to paradise. And the losers get to stay on Earth and continue to strive for a better tomorrow. I guess at those point of danger, do not resist. Do not stare at them in the face with that “F-it! Pick me! I am not afraid of you!” It isn’t exactly the best time to show your attitude. And don’t cry or whimper. Wimps have to go first as you disturb the much appreciated serenity for the prayers. Shun Lady Luck at all cost. This time, you don’t want to be lucky. You don’t want to be picked. You don’t want to be the peace negotiator. You just want to stone, pray silently, and make it out in one piece.
