An Unending Struggle

Okay, this should be a very thought-provoking post since I will be doing the review for 2 very inspiring movies. In the group of 5, these 2 are the most insightful movies.

You can be weak, but never surrender in order to keep the game going.

Billionaire is a Thai movie and Peach is in it, so definitely I am going to praise it to the sky, no doubts about it. Lol!

As compared to those Hollywood movies, you can really see the filmography is not as impressive. But still there was something heartwarming about it. I couldn’t point a finger to what, but then I think it might be because I share some sort of similarities with Top. (Anyway, top is a really cute name. LOL!)

Peach

This time, I watched with my brother who enjoys banking on my fortune when it comes to movie treats. -.- Okay, this time he treated me to half a kong cha but from a straw coated with his saliva and 30 cents of my duck rice dinner. Better than nothing. -.- So Mum asked us how was the movie when we came home. And I was like “He is a bit like me. Don’t think a lot. But fiercely determined to challenges and easily irritable when people others doubt our capability. Likes making a quick buck with very keen business acumen. Knows a good deal when we see one and will not hesitate to leverage on such opportunities. Only difference, I am not a billionaire."

My brother, the thinker, was calculating the 40M debt in SGC and concluded it is really no big deal to pay it off. But the understanding one, told the little one that hey things may be different in Thailand, OK! Overall, inspiring, and we all need some motivations sometimes in life. But, too bad I think too late for you all to catch it already. =P

Lady of No Fear (Democracy without the Loss of Life)

All in all, I think it is a very good movie simply because Michelle Yeoh did a super good portrayal as Aung San Suu Kyi. The lines between them just blurred. And because of this movie, I even read up on this lady-in-waiting. Memorable? Definitely. And perhaps all of us should really read up on Burma and think of ways to use our liberty to give them theirs. There are really no human rights whatsoever there. It is quite heart-wrenching actually to see people suffering when we are here enjoying life as it is.

I think actually there were some scenes that missed the moment. There were tears brimming in my eyes especially when there are gun fires but they did not trickle down or anything. But my mum, -.- she was like a giant water tap. Throughout the movie, she was snorting, you know those sounds people make when they clear their noses when they are sobbing, yea non-stop. So I concluded, I probably lack certain emotional depth to understand this lady’s pain and sorrow. For one I am not married, so I don’t really feel the agony of being separated from my husband and children and the pressure of it all.

And here comes the disappointing part, no Michelle Yeoh. I was acting like some stalker behind a pillar ready to snap and pretty much following the photographer like an over-zealous assistant. My mum said with a cap I would be perfect for this role. But I saw an actress whom I don’t know her name and not interested to take a photo with her despite my mum’s constant pressure of “no fish, prawn also good”. Sorry, I want fish only. Too bad I have no bait to tempt it out. Wonder why they even bother to let me come if the female lead wasn't attending. I remembered explicitly stating, I can buy a tickets if I want to watch the movie, but I want the gala tickets simply because I want to see her in person and tell her how much her portrayal inspired me.

Although a 21-year-old heart was broken that very day, she understood the value of peace and will not undermine this movie simply because of the no-show. This movie needs more publicity because a lot of people need to be educated and set to think how we can improve this world and make it a better place.
